Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking

About the Torrance Training

Training to administer and score the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking, Figural Forms, is a very rigorous undertaking. Training takes place over three days as the test is very comprehensive and covers the theory of creativity as outlined by E. Paul Torrance. Since 1962, the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking have been a common framework for the evaluation of creative thinking processes.

Since the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking are standardized and highly reliable, it is necessary that potential scorers go through the test-out process. In order to pass the test-out process, homework assignments will be given on Thursday and Friday evenings. In addition, three sample tests will be distributed upon completion of the training to be scored and returned to the Torrance Center. Certification requirements are set by the Torrance Center at the University of Georgia. Upon meeting the standard of reliability, the Torrance Center will issue you a certificate of competency authorizing you to score this test.
